Wheeled Material Handler Simulator Controls

The wheeled material handler simulator is designed to be used with two styles of controls: PC controls or replica controls. You can choose the option that best fits your operator training program and budget. It can also be used with an operator chair, for a superior training experience.

PC Controls

To maximize cost-effectiveness, the wheeled material handler simulator offered by VISTA can be used with low-cost, off-the-shelf PC joysticks. VISTA recommends the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, shown at right. Why? Because the same joystick may be used for both the right and left hands, and it offers a large number of switches for the thumb along with additional switches in the base, which means you can customize it to meet your training needs.

VISTA also offers table-top mounting brackets are to bring the PC joysticks down from table-top height to the sides of an ordinary chair, to better mimic the positioning of real controls in the cab of a real wheeled material handler. Logitech Attack 3 joysticks may also be used with this simulator.

Replica Controls

Replica controls for the wheeled material handler simulator feature industrial-strength components suitable for both table-top mounting and an operator chair. A pair of multi-purpose replica controls joysticks with 8 push-buttons can be used with many other simulators offered by VISTA. We can also provide table-top mounting brackets to bring the joysticks down from table-top height to the sides of an ordinary chair, to better mimic the positioning of operator controls in the cab of real material handlers.

To complete the replica controls, add the Logitech G27 racing wheel, which consists of a steering wheel, a three-pedal unit, and a gear shifter with pushbuttons that can also be used with many other simulators offered by VISTA. In most countries, the G27 is for sale in stores that sell computers or video games, but it may also be purchased from Logitech's on-line store. G27 units can also be purchased via VISTA at the cost of USD$600.

NEW: Operator Chair

Finally, for a superior simulation experience, VISTA is pleased to offer an operator chair with industrial controls, a real operator seat, and integrated consoles for the left and right hands, mounted on an industrial platform with casters, for easy portability. The joysticks feature 8 push-buttons plus a trigger, and are designed for use with many of the simulators VISTA sells. The operator chair can also be easily reconfigured to work with other personal simulators we offer.
